If there’s one thing the staff at Peterson Toyota, our Boise Toyota dealer knows, it’s cars, and one of the most important components of the car is the exhaust system. The purpose of the exhaust system is to guide exhaust gases away from a controlled combustion in the engine, and it’s important to keep up with maintenance.
The exhaust system is made up of five components: exhaust manifold, down pipe, catalytic converter, center section and the muffler. The muffler is most prone to failure because moisture gathers in the box and does not evaporate on short drives, causing rust and holes.
The catalytic converter is the most expensive part of the exhaust system, and without proper service, it can easily leak and fail. If you have any other questions concerning your exhaust system, be sure to contact our Toyota dealer serving Meridian.
